Bishop Francisco Garmendia Ayesteran was a holy priest and bishop from the Basque Country in Spain. He was the first Hispanic Catholic bishop of New York. As a priest and bishop, he worked tirelessly to promote the faith, Eucharistic Adoration, Devotion to Our Lady and the Divine Mercy, the Pro-Life message and social justice. He was a true man of God.
